HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY:

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 requires all employers with more than four employees, to prepare and review their Health and Safety Policy on a regular basis.

RISK ASSESSMENTS:

Risk Assessments are an essential tool for planning your business activities effectively. The HSE describes a Risk Assessments as: ‘a careful examination of what, in the workplace, could cause harm to people… and whether the precautions taken are satisfactory or whether more should be done to prevent harm’.

SAFE SYSTEMS OF WORK:

A Safe System of Work – often described as a Method Statement, is a step by step process describing how to complete a task in a safe way, taking account of all foreseeable hazards to Health & Safety.

Well-written systems not only keep you and your employees safe, but improve efficiency as well.

FIRE RISK ASSESSMENTS:

Similar but distinct from standard Risk Assessments, a Fire Risk Assessment is a specifc assessment of the Fire Risks inherent in a particular activity, or to occupants of a building etc., and will ensure that those people are safe from the risk of fire and its effects with appropriate exits and equipment.

ACCIDENT POLICIES & PROCEDURES:

For employers to ensure that adequate procedures are in place for the recording and reporting of accidents, a series of steps and regulations must be complied with.
