Description:
The Mersey River Festival (MRF)

The MRF is one of the most popular annual events in the calendar. The last MRF attracted over 150,000 people to the waterfront.

The MRF will consist of free activities in and around the waterfront encompassing the Albert Dock and South end of Pier Head. Various vessels including military and tall ships (some of which are open to the public) will be berthed in the docks, water-side activities including jet-ski displays/wakeboarding championships, Thundercat boat racing, regattas, alongside street theatre, aerial displays and food/drink concessions.

Armed Forces Day (AFD)
Liverpool will become the national focus for Armed Forces Day 2017. Armed Forces Day is a chance for the city and the country to show its support and thanks to the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community from currently serving troops to service families, veterans and cadets.
The event will consist of attendance by the military services including Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force, cadets, veterans, reservists etc. Military assets will be showcased on the Graving Docks next to the Museum of Liverpool, Pier Head and Princes Parade.
A naval type 45 destroyer vessel will be located on the cruise berth and will be open to visitors at specified times. There will be flypasts from the Red Arrows & a Typhoon as well as music, marching and performing military bands, food/drink concessions plus a whole host of animation across the site. Saturday will also see a parade consisting of Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force, Cadets and veterans accompanied by their individual marching bands. This will commence at St Georges Hall, parade through the city centre and end on the waterfront at Princes Parade.
